So who exactly is Big B? He's the Vice President, you know, the guy everyone forgets about when they go in to vote for the next leader of our country. His name is Joe Biden, and he's on a mission that is going to touch the lives of almost everyone I know.
The article I read this week was all about the group to be, the White House Task Force on Middle Class Working Families. It's a group with a huge name and an even larger task to handle. Biden's force is setting out to keep the business in America, and support the companies we have instead of letting all the big deals get shipped overseas. Yes that's right, middle class friends, we do have someone in our corner after all. The group is set to meet later this month. The topics on their agenda will no doubt involve the unemployment rate that is climbing higher every day, the rising living cost, and the jacked up stimulus package that may or may not make a bit difference to people to deep to get ahead. Obama has already been making headway with matters that have long been over looked. The President was quoted saying this in respect to middle class workers and unions,""We need to level the playing field for workers and the unions that represent their interests, because we know that you cannot have a strong middle class without a strong labor movement." Biden's team will be a great value or the biggest pacifier to the cause. Biden has the ability to take on those who oppose the greatly needed steps that need to be taken to get the hard working families back to where they use to be. He's got a plan, but he needs to have the backbone that any true American is said to have when certain rights or causes need to reinforced. Having been personally affected by the struggling economy and unfairly forced to find a job that seems to be non-existent at the moment, somebody with a voice louder than mine needs to step up. Biden's got my confidence now. Let's just see what happens after their meeting. Then we will know just what he plans to do.

Fair Lilly's Money
In the article that I chose from the NewYork Times which was titled " Obama signs Equal-Pay Legislation", it's all about a lady named Lilly Ledbetter who worked for Goodyear tire Company for 19 years. At the end of her career, she discovered that the men who had worked with her were getting paid more than she was. This was more than troubling to her so she took the case to court. In the end, it got as far as the Supreme Court, who threw the case out in a very close vote and a technicality that said she had taken too much time to complain about the situation.
Ms.Ledbetter's people tried to get the law passed again during the most recent Bush administration, but it was opposed again. The woman wouldn't give up. So today, the law was not only signed, but is the first one to be signed by President Obama.
I am all for this bill that is going to give hard working people, who have been spending their lives in the factories that we take for granted, a chance to tell the corporate guys that they are gonna fight the crap that goes on. There is more of a window of time to complain and investigate why a 20-something kid is going to get paid double to do a job a 40-something faithful employee, who's been with the company since they were 18, can do a million times better. Not that I'm gonna play the " I am Woman,Hear me Roar" card, but this may also make some employers think twice about giving a raise to a male worker who can't half do their job without major female assistance. These companies who think they're gonna get away with unfair paychecks, bonuses, and raises better watch out for the Ms.Lilly Ledbetter.,cause now she has the power of the law (literally).
